For your vacation in Franconian Switzerland, the Stempferhof offers modern and comfortably furnished rooms, a restaurant with winter garden and regional cuisine, a cozy lobby bar with fireplace corner, a sauna area with sauna, steam bath, sanarium and wellness treatments, as well as a contemporary event and conference area. The Stempferhof welcomes a large number of frequent guests who, in addition to the pleasant ambience, particularly appreciate the hospitality of the hotel staff.
A history of hospitality
The Stempferhof was built in the 1930s as a guest house for the many Erlangen students who were already staying at the Stempfermühle in the Wiesenttal at the time. After the hardships of the Second World War, the house stood empty for a long time and was in danger of falling into disrepair. At the beginning of the 1970s, the building was bought by the Johannisches Aufbauwerk from Berlin. It was extended, rebuilt and new land was opened up for the construction of a spa park, much to the delight of the numerous groups of guests who filled the house with life from then on. At the turn of the millennium, extensive refurbishment work was required, which was completed with the reopening in 2007. Since then, the Stempferhof has been welcoming guests from near and far in its new guise. A warm welcome.
Gößweinstein
Right in the heart of Franconian Switzerland, in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim, is the state-approved climatic health resort of Gößweinstein, which is known far beyond the region's borders as the largest place of pilgrimage to the Holy Trinity and in particular for its baroque pilgrimage basilica and the almost one-thousand-year-old Gößweinstein Castle. The town center is characterized by narrow, winding streets with pretty half-timbered houses. Various events take place in the market town of Gößweinstein throughout the year, including the Balthasar Neumann Music Days, concerts in the Gößweinstein basilica, the Festival of Lights in Gößweinstein, night watchman tours of Gößweinstein and much more.
The Franconian Switzerland Nature Park
Franconian Switzerland is one of the oldest vacation regions in Germany. Romantics gave the landscape its name and praised the region as a "hideaway of the German spirit", which is characterized in particular by rugged rock formations, romantic fields and meadows, deeply carved river valleys, gorges and a multitude of caves, castles and ruins. The picturesque landscape attracts many hikers, climbers and nature lovers every year, and the Franconian region is very popular with motorcyclists due to its narrow and winding roads.
